Indian gooseberry
Indian gooseberry, commonly known as amla, is a lifesaver when it comes to dealing with greying. You can utilise it in several ways to serve the purpose. Either consume it as juice or topically use it as a hair mask or hair oil as explained below:
Amla juice:
You can prepare fresh amla juice by blending 1 or 2 deseeded amla fruit with a cup of water and drink it daily. The fruit has incredible amounts of vitamins and minerals, nourishes the hair from within, and stops premature greying.
Amla hair mask:
Cut a handful of fruits into small pieces. Grind it along with some water to make a fine paste. Apply this paste as a mask. Make sure you massage it well onto the scalp so that the juice nourishes the roots well. Let it sit at least for 10 minutes and wash it off with water.
Amla hair oil:
You can also opt for the amla hair oil to stop premature greying. You can buy readymade ones available in stores or prepare the oil yourself at home.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan, add amla powder to it and allow it to stay on low heat for a few minutes.
- You can also add other ingredients good for hair, such as fenugreek or curry leaves.
- Remove from the heat, and allow to cool. Strain it and store it in a container for later use.
Use this oil to massage your scalp and wash it off with a mild shampoo. You will see a noticeable difference.
