Who would say NO to an energy-boosting mid-day drink? If you are looking for one that is packed with nutrients too, it must be a double thumbs-up, right? Here is an easy-to-do drink, spiced buttermilk, made from Yogurt, Amla, and a host of other healthy ingredients.

Buttermilk Packed With Nutrients

This delicious buttermilk made with Indian Gooseberry/Amla, Curry leaves, Coriander leaves, Mint leaves, Pepper, Cumin seeds, and Yogurt is refreshing to consume.

Amla

The Indian Gooseberry, popularly known as Amla or Awla in Hindi, is loaded with Vitamin C and Iron and has strong antioxidant properties. The fruit promotes gut health and regulates blood sugar levels. Since ancient times, the regular use of Amla is encouraged as it improves skin health, hair health, and eyesight.

Curry & Coriander Leaves

Curry leaves and coriander leaves are rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants keep your body healthy and free from diseases. Regular use of these leaves improves your heart health and gut health. Curry leaves also possess anticancer, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Mint Leaves

A relatively easier plant to grow, mint is a calming herb. Mint leaves have a cooling effect on your body. They treat upset stomach and indigestion. Mint is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Black Pepper & Cumin Seeds

Black pepper is antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties—regular consumption of black pepper aids in improving the cholesterol levels and managing blood sugar levels.

Cumin seeds are rich in iron and aids in digestion.

Yogurt

Last but not least, Yogurt is probiotic, which means it has active, living bacteria. It promotes gut bacteria and enhances intestines health. Also, Yogurt contains Vitamins B6 and B12, calcium, potassium, and magnesium.

Here Are The Ingredients:

  • Gooseberry (Indian Amla) – 2
  • Curry leaves – 2 Strands
  • Coriander leaves – 1 handful
  • Mint leaves – 8 to 10
  • Cumin seeds – ¼ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 5
  • Yoghurt – 3 tablespoon
  • Rock salt or pink Salt – as per taste

Method Of Preparing Spiced Buttermilk:

Wash Amla and the leaves well under running water. Take off the Amla seeds. Blend the mentioned ingredients together in a blender to a fine paste. Now, add 500ml of water and blend again. Filter the blended mixture, and your delicious drink is ready to consume.

Needless to say, garnishing it with a few mint and coriander leaves will make it more appealing too.

With ingredients ready, you can prepare this spiced buttermilk in a jiffy. You can have this as an energising drink during mid-day or as a refresher in the evening.
